A food distribution center servicing 350 supermarkets built a food waste to energy plant. The energy recovery system significantly reduces the energy foot print of the center.
A variety of vegetable mater, meat scraps, glass, sand, dirt, and sanitizing chemicals from 300 to 400 totes per day. The Slurry goes through a mazorator, then to the pump. The pump moves it to the digester.
Original pumps were progressive cavity. The abrasive slurry was causing a pump to fail in less than 6 weeks. The customer was replacing a 316 SS rotors and rubber stators at a significant cost and loss of production.
The three progressive cavities pumps were replaced with a single RamParts 40 P lined with ETFE (a fluorinated polymer resistant to virtually all chemicals and exhibits superior abrasion and corrosion resistance) and Santoprene Diaphragm. The RamParts Pump has solved the problem with no loss of production or repairs. The pump has paid for itself in
operational savings, and the customer is purchasing additional pumps for this and other installations. RamParts and our distributor partner have worked together to save this customer time, energy and money.
The customer is “ecstatic” with the success of RamParts Pumps.
