Experienced pump mechanic specializing in submersible pump repairs. Maintains the quality of service at a high level in support of the Company’s sales efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Inspect, repair and service customer equipment.

Establish a work schedule in coordination with Service Manager.

Assist with repairs at customers’ sites; adhere to customer safety rules and policies.

Drive and safely operate company owned vehicle/service truck.

Keep work area safe and clean; adhere to Tencarva safety rules and policies.

Safety equipment is to be used in accordance with the company safety manual.

Travel for training or customer assistance as necessary.

Must be able to travel overnight, if required, and be prepared to take responsibility of handling approved personal travel expenses. (Approved travel expenses will be reimbursed by the Company.)

Perform other tasks as may be directed by supervisor.

Must be experienced or familiar with the following:

  • diagnosing and testing electric motors from 1-450HP
  • voltages from 115V 1PH to 460V 3PH
  • mechanical seals & pressure testing
  • bearings and bearing arrangements
  • hydraulic impellers, wear ring clearances, etc.
  • multi-testers for testing motors & sensors
  • meggers for insulation testing
  • wiring, electricity & panel testing
  • panel experience is a plus
  • ability to read mics, calipers and other measuring tools as required.
  • able to use manuals & drawings for disassembly / assembly & testing
  • tools both standard and metric.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma (or equivalent) + some technical training preferred.
2-3 years of mechanical experience.
Must possess a good mechanical aptitude and interest.
Must have a valid driver’s license, and maintain a clean driving record (less than 3 points).

Language Skills
Must be able to read, write, and understand English. Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the company by means of good written and verbal skills, and must be able to work with colleagues effectively and professionally.

Mathematical Skills

Must be able to perform basic math functions, i.e., add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

Belt alignment tool
Amp Meter

Within the company: Service managers/Branch managers – daily
Sales Engineers – daily
Other service persons – daily
SSS’s/inside sales personnel – daily

Outside the company: Customer personnel
Equipment manufacturer’s personnel
